2015 Police Charger
We've all been there before, driving 5 or 10 mph over the speed limit on the highway, when we check our mirrors only to feel an anvil drop in our stomachs when we see the face of the local Charger police car behind us. Maybe you were pulled over, or maybe you were spared, but you sure as hell kept a watchful eye out for the rest of your trip.
There's something about the Dodge Charger that makes it the perfect police car. It looks like the kind of car that would be driven by law enforcement in an iron-fisted police state, in the best kind of way. In all black, it's aggressive to the point of intimidation. Certainly law enforcement feels the same way, hence the number of Charger police vehicles on the road.

For 2015, Dodge is offering a host of enhancements to the world's meanest police car. Styling cues from the recently refreshed road car have found their way onto the Charger Pursuit, including a new crosshair grille, LED DRLs and projector headlamps. Dodge claims the forward-leaning fascia gives it a "superhero" stance. We won't go that far into hyperbole land, but the Charger certainly looks as aggressive as ever. The rear maintains the same full bar LED set up as before (easy to spot at night), along with the addition of a backup camera.
While exterior styling may be great for the intimidation factor, it's what's inside that counts for the men and women who serve. Chrysler's Uconnect 5.0 system with a 5-inch touchscreen comes standard, as does Bluetooth and hands-free Uconnect Phone technology. The 2015 Charger Pursuit features a mobile-command interior, with a column-mounted shifter, and police-duty front seats to accommodate belt mounted gear.
Advice from Dodge's 22-member Police Advisory Board has led to improved performance and changes within the Dodge Charger pursuit. Remappable auxiliary buttons on the steering wheel allow for compatibility with aftermarket police equipment.

Power for the updated pursuit vehicles comes in either V8 or V6 form. The Dodge Charger Pursuit V8 is powered by a 5.7-liter HEMI V8, making 370 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque that can propel the vehicle to 60 mph in under 6 seconds. Also available is the Charger Pursuit V6, featuring a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 making 292 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both engine variants will be available in rear and AWD forms.
Mopar-developed police packages will also be available for Dodge Charger Pursuit models. The packages include all of the necessary electronic enhancements needed for various police equipment, including sirens, additional lights, computers, cameras and radios. Additional Mopar packages include police floor consoles, exterior graphics, steel seatback inserts, and a ballistic package for driver and passenger doors.
Dodge's new 2015 Charger Pursuit car is available to order through its fleet operations services, so unless you're a member of the local police department, don't expect to drive one soon.
